SOME MORE IDEAS

Bring your favorite tunes. I still have a CD player (!), and mp3s are fine too. One of my favorite parts of my job is hearing everyone's music!

Go to bed early for a few days before the shoot, and don't plan anything else for that day if at all possible. Not so much because you'll look  better physically, but you will definitely feel more prepared and relaxed, which makes for better pictures.

Don't think too much about this in advance.  For example, do not  practice your smile in front of the bathroom mirror or study other people's cool photos!  The best pictures are spontaneous, just like your best moments on stage or film.
